Swingin'

The three of us went to the park recently.  Colton couldn't enough time on the swings!  We love hearing his giggles and seeing his funny expressions when he is "swingin'!"

Silly Boy!

Sometimes you never know what you may see when you have a two year old playing by himself in the family room while you're cooking in the kitchen...well, the other day, Colton emptied out all of the balls from this net bag and used it as a "hiding place!"  I love their innocence at this age...he thinks I can't see him when he is hiding inside of it :)

Here I am Mommy!

Colton's First Day of Preschool!

Today was the day that I was dreading and was excited for at the same time.  On one hand, other people, besides myself would be influencing my Colton.  Also, for the first time, I would not get to see his every move, laugh, cry, diaper, smile, cuddle, etc.  These things made me sad and a little anxious.  On the other hand, going to preschool is part of growing up and developing his own personality.  I know it will be a great experience for him to have to listen, respect, & follow directions from other "teachers" besides me all the time.  It is just hard to realize that he really is growing up!  Time is flying with our sweet boy, and we are loving every minute of it...let this new journey begin!

He was READY for preschool!

Such a big boy!

Colton is pushing Ily away because she is trying to give him sweet kisses :)

Sporting his new backpack!  He LOVES to carry his backpack and lunchbag around!

We are so glad that we started talking about "preschool" with Colton for the last month.  We really think that it helped him to have such a great first day!

One last hug from my sweet boy before we left!

"BYE BYE!"  Let's get this show on the road!

Colton with his sweet teachers Mrs. Delaine and Mrs. Tiffany...you can tell that he was a little nervous...so cute :)

We found his little cubby for his backpack and lunchbag.

Here are the little treats I made his teachers...being a teacher, I know some good tricks ;)

This is what he was doing when I left...meeting new friends and playing with play doh!  When I picked him up, he was asleep on his napmat...it was a GREAT first day!!!

Preschool Open House!

Josh and I cannot believe that our sweet Colton will begin Preschool this week!  Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of meeting his teachers and seeing his classroom.  We have been talking with Colton all about preschool for the past few weeks to get him excited.  He really liked his new teachers and seemed happy to be there :)  A new journey begins Tuesday!

Suprise Party!

Our sweet friend Ashleigh turned the big 3-0 this week, so her hubby, Ryan, planned a super fun suprise dinner at Brixx!  I caught a quick picture of her as she walked out on the patio...she was so suprised!  Out of the seven couples there, five had kids...ALL boys!  Colton was the only big boy.  The other four babies were all born within 6 weeks of each other!  It was a great evening filled with yummy pizza & cupcakes, laughter, and sweet baby boys!

SUPRISE!!!

Haircut Time!

Colton was overdue for another haircut.  It was getting a little "mulletish" looking in the back :)

The two before pictures above...

Showing me his "haircut."  Nice and short for the end of summer.

Moldovans in VA!

Our sweet neighbors have wanted to go home with me to Roanoke for a few years now.  So, my Mom finally had a good weekend in mind, and Veronica and Iosif made the trip!  They were so excited because it was going to be like a vacation for them.  Our weekend was filled with fun times and yummy food.  My Mom treated them to new outfits for school from Target Thursday evening.  We went to Splash Valley, ate pizza out for dinner, & rented Soul Surfer on Friday.  We spent most of Saturday at Hidden Valley Pool, and went up to "The Star" that evening.  Finally, on Sunday we went to brunch at Hidden Valley before going to church!  We got back home to TN just in time for them to start school Monday!

The kids favorite rides at Splash Valley

Here is Iosif in the super fun "funel" ride!  I rode it once..and that was enough for me :)

It didn't long for this place to wear out Colton!

Dinner at Pizza Pasta Pit

Movie Time with popcorn and M&M's of course :)

This was their first time off diving boards

Colton loves the pool too!

Here we are on top of the Mountain at "The Star!"

Colton LOVED having these two all to himself for the whole weekend :)

We took a few pics on the golf course right after brunch Sunday

I love these two...great neighbors!

Fun Playdate!

It is always so fun and refreshing to get together with The Ashtons!  We call Josiah and Colton birthday buddies since they were born on the same day.  They have a great time playing together.  I just love the bottom pic of the boys when they were around 6 months old :)
I also loved holding the newest member of the Ashton family...baby Evie (I wasn't able to get a pic of her this time).  She is doing so wonderful, and I can't wait to see them again :)

Piggy Bank!

Colton received a fun piggy bank for a baby shower gift before he was born.  He has now become interested in "coins" and his little bank.  He only knows pennies so far, but he LOVES to put his coins in his piggy bank!  I think it will become a great way to teach him about saving his coins/money in the near future :)

Showing Mommy his "coins"

Loading up his piggy bank

SO proud of himself :)

Our sweet boy gets so excited about the smallest things!

Find my toys!

Colton has come up with a new game where he "hides" his favorite toys together and then asks, "Find my toys Mommy!"  He takes each toy one by one to its designated hiding place...so cute :)  He did actually stump me one time where I couldn't find where he hid the toys.  He was pretty clever and hid them under the chair in the family room.

Apparently the downstairs bathroom is a fun place to hide toys :)

Next was in his basket of shoes in one of the laundry room cubbies.

Then under the chair where he had to show me where they were...you can tell that he was proud of himself for hiding his toys in such a good spot :)

He is at such a fun age where he really does LOVE his toys :)
